BIOFLAVONOIDS

Bioflavonoids are a class of water-soluble plant pigments. They have wide-ranging uses as anti-inflammatory,antihistaminic, and antiviral agents. Bioflavonoids are known to block the "sorbital pathway" that is linked to many of the symptoms of diabetes. Their main function is to protect blood vessels & reduce platelet aggregation. There are many different kinds of bioflavonoids like citrus bioflavonoids, rutin, anthocyanidins ( found in bilberry ) and the oliegomeric proantho-cyanidins like grape seed extract and white pine bark extract. Bioflavonoids also help protect vitamin C against deterioration from light, heat, and water and improve its absorption. The addition of the bioflavonoids completes the vitamin C complex. Rutin has long been used to improve broken blood vessels and blood circulation, especially in the legs. Complete Vitamins-Plus includes six different kinds of Bioflavonoids.
